So as the video mentions he is the very same Welt from HI3 where as the rest of the characters in HSR are completely different people from their counterparts in HI3 but often share the same relationships just with a different twist(such as Cocolia being a parental figure to Bronya in both HSR and HI3)
I cant imagine how strange is must feel for Welt to be in HSR and meeting people with faces from his past but are completely different people, also HI3 exists in HSR as a video game since in Silverwolf's trailer we see her playing as her HI3 equivalent

You should definitely react to Honkai impact 3rd stuff. It's my favorite game and the story is genuinly a masterpiece.

If you do, I recommend doing it with the jp dub since honkai impact 3rd only has a chinese and japanese dub.

The other characters are expys. They are the multiversale counterparts of characters from HI3. Welt is different. He is actually from HI3 and traveled to HSR from the world of HI3.

The honkai 3 manga 'Second Eruption' is legit one of the greatest mangas I've ever read. If you ever get the time I'd totally recommend it just for fun lol.

I do really recommend reading Second Eruption. It’s free to read online and it’s just a good read. It’s also foundational lore so you don’t need much HI3 since it serves as a lot of context.

Also yes, Welt is from Earth, which is where March would have gotten the phrase from. He's tried to get Herta to contact Earth but she's had no luck IIRC. Semi-related, the girl in the cat suit...is Schrodinger. So you can see why she's in a cat suit

So an important concept for all Hoyo games really is variants. Remixes of characters that might have a lot or a little to do with their source material as it was.

Remielle from zzz and Cyrene from hsr are variants of Elysia from hi3. Phainon is a variant of Kevin from hi3. And the electro archon, acheron, and Raiden mei all share dna.

You can have similar character designs, story beats, themes, or all of the above shared between the characters.

Welt is special for being One of the few characters who actually crossed universes so this is the same character as shows up in hi3 story. Like Sparkle is unique for actually visiting hi3 world.

There are many prequel manga for HI3 the game even links to most of them. Highly recommended, especially Second Eruption . Genshin also has a couple prequel manga.

Welt's cane is the Star of Eden , which is why he can use it to unleash gravitic attacks, without further using his Herrscher powers. Which Bronya returned to him, along with the Core, since Honkai energy is limited on Earth during APHO, so not very useful to her. Given how many times Welt has reconstructed his own body (which doesn't age and is actually in peak physical condition, he just acts older for theatrics and atmosphere), he could easily give Firefly a normal body. But that would require revealing his Herrscher powers, which are on par with a Stellaron and some Emanators.
