I will have to say, I do agree with the whole vintage era. Modern sure does make some great stuff, but the vintage sets will forever be iconic. The vintage chases are just another level of not only value monetarily but also meaningfully.

Vintage Pokemon at this point seems an even better buy than most vintage sports because the original 151 aren't going to die or retire. They're as popular as ever and relevant.

People always forget how much of this collectable stuff is still sealed. If you've been doing this long enough you realize it's a lot more than you originally thought.

Market's so bonkers right now I put some older low value modern on ebay today. Sold within minutes. Selling and downsizing to focus on WOTC era for myself. :)

I see similarities to the sports card junk wax era. Manufacturers printing to demand, pallets of cards at Costco, hoarding of unopened product. Loading up on the Jose Canseco, Greg Jefferies types rather than Mickey Mantle and Jackie Robinson.
