If you’ve got nothing positive to say move along. It’s an insight to a life that you’ll never have to live and a life you’ll never understand. Don’t be quick to Judge another person Journey we all human and we all have a story. To the haters These videos are somewhere you wouldn’t have the courage to go visit to meet the locals of the area.

Porirua has the potential to grow outside the mess of the mob. Unfortunately, the intimidation of grown men needing to be in a gang, out weighs a man doing honest mahi to provide for his whanau. That's a real man!!

This is surreal to come across as an adult who moved away from Porirua as a young teen. I maintain that Mongrel Mob members saved my life when I was 12, a creepy guy following me home from my friend's house and I went up to a group of tatted, patched guys by the Waitangirua shops and they intervened. I got home safe.

Respect to that guy at the end there doing the calisthenics. You can tell he's making a real genuine effort to put his past behind him and be a real role model, to lead by example, and that's just fuckin awesome. Good luck to you man.

I grew up in Porirua, lived in a state housing block down Falcon st and went to Richmond school in the 70's, wasnt a bad place then, then as the gangs moved in and expanded the ones that could moved out, saddens me when I drive through my old home town to see what its become.

Man those Whenua Tapu headstones are haunting. Seeing Kainuku, Takavi, and others. We lived at 104 Waihora crescent. After Cannons Creek Primary School, I went to Corinna school with Roderick Moki (Sid's Bro. and Joe Moki). Sid ended up Marrying Mary John's (beautiful). I was Waihora cres. paper boy for too many years. Mob always looked after me, never stood over me (skinny white boy) even in later years with my "association." Malo Ahoi was a world class boxer. Talofa Lava to the Mau Mau. A shout out to Harry Tam as well.

Been waiting for the Porirua episode to drop. Crazy seeing the MOB standing in the Creek — the same spots where their dads used to get hidings from teenagers not that long ago lol. I said what I said, and if you’re pressed, I just hope your dad recovered. Everybody from Porirua knows the truth.

They claim they care about the community, but at the same time they’re feeding the town drugs lol.

If there’s anyone to really fear in this place, it’s the hardworking Pacific families. They’ve got so many siblings and cousins that they’re already a whole unit on their own. They don’t need gangs — they’re too busy working hard to provide for their kids, trying to get them the hell out of here.

Islanders here are built different. Most of them went through more abuse and struggle than these fullas in the gang ever did. That’s what made Cannons Creek what it was back in the day — groups of Pacific brothers and sisters who pushed through tougher times than these guys will ever know.

And let’s be real — Porirua ain’t even that active compared to other cities. The crimes in Auckland? Nothing here can top that.

Sad truth is, a lot of the ones in that interview repping Rarotonga might never even get to go back there. Too many are caught up on the pipe and trapped in the system, dragging their kids along with them. They talk about wanting to be successful — but real success means moving different. If you ever wanted to head to Australia for a fresh start, it’s not happening if you stay stuck with the wrong crowd.

Honestly, if this podcast had started back in the day and interviewed Pacific people from this community, you’d get a way harder, more raw insight into Porirua — especially the Cannons Creek community.

Good to see the hood on tv and remember the ones that have gone to the next life.. Tukave, big Paulie Perkins, Joe13, and the bro that literally saved my life after my parents passed away, Cap, or Nuks.. Ngaro Nukunuku.. I’m just an insignificant white boy from the Waikato and was introduced to the Cap purely by chance and I don’t have the words to describe how blessed I am to have been a close friend to him.. Been all over the country with him, listening to his stories about East Coast, Tolaga Bay, Te kaha, Ruatoria.. I had a flat above the mob shed in Broken Hill before they got the pad in Waitangirua.. I met Paulie Tuk Daz and Doc when I lived up Broken Hill all those years ago. Along with Nuks, they all left us far too soon..

Much aroha and respect to them all.. And thanks for the wisdom, insights and memories I was fortunate to be a part of..

I comment with respect firstly… secondly to say I moved to Cannon’s Creek Porirua earlier this year after going through some stuff. Me and my small family have been blessed here in so many ways. The COMMUNITY the PEOPLE ❤ have been good to us and for the first time in along time I sleep at night knowing I’m safe my family are well fed and warm and supported. I see little or no judgment in Porirua and for the first time since I was a kid I feel I am home. PORIRUA BLESSED ❤
