  Be safe man. My first bike was a brand new SV650SA and 2 years later when I broke with my ex-girlfriend, I went straight to the dealership buying a ZX6R Anniversary Edition and totaled it 4 months later. Ended up at the hospital with multiple fractures and a road rash. Got a brand new Z900 right after and my parents wanted to kill me 😅 But I didn’t wanted to live in fear from riding. The best advices I can give you, cuz you’re pretty young… First, wear your gear even if it’s hot. I know it sucks, but it will save your life. Those drivers are dumb AF at times. Trust me on that… Second, never ride your bike when you’re emotional. It may feel the right thing to do as a « therapy », but it’s the worst thing for yourself. Trust me on that also lol… And my last advice, I’m sure you already know, but many times we get overwhelmed by the excitement. Don’t let the bike control you. Control it.   i upgraded from an r3 to an r9 too, people are like it needs to be “tuned”. I think it’s fine lol

  I have the MT09sp. 2nd gear is not great because of passing emissions. But as soon as I finish breaking in the engine, I’m going to get a titanium exhaust and get it tuned.
