robot/rex going into the sewer during the sequid invasion made a LOT more sense in the comics, because he literally couldn't move his robot drone and was covered in sequids. in the show it's just an eye roll moment because we KNOW he's only vulnerable to the sequids while he's out of his suit. the first thing he does is get knocked tf out by a metal pipe too, which he's only saved by because the sequids politely waited for him to wake up

The reason why we see that team comp coming out of the plane before they became guardians again is because they were already working together a lot after the events of the invincible war and conquest, them rejoining was just making it official with the government

14:00 in defense of this writing choice: i think the conversation between mark and eve’s father makes sense in the context of the show as they wrote it. the show tends to make the more blatant stuff from the comic more grey, and while eves father is a huge sexist bigot in the comic, in the show more than a sexist bigot he is someone who fundamentally doesn’t trust superhero’s. a female superhero even less because it goes against his notions of what is a woman, yes, but he doesn’t think that any individual should have the kind of power his daughter has. his motivation, in the show, has been shown over and over again to be a fundamental distaste and distrust for superpowers and the situations Eve puts herself in as a result of having super powers. so this conversation with mark actually tracks for that characterization, and from a narrative standpoint Mark never gave a shit Eve wasn’t a virgin so to bring it up randomly would be bringing up an issue that the show has never tried, or intended to actually tackle. this conversation instead focuses on the shared pain points between mark and eve’s dad: that being eves safety and it being in jeopardy from her hero work. all of this is to say that i don’t think it’s a bad move to change the conversation because narratively this one makes more sense and has more of a pay off in later story beats. and honestly, think about the second layer of implications about what eve’s dad is saying. there is the implication of duty and protection Mark has to provide Eve simply because she’s a girl and more than that, she’s the girl Mark is dating. We know that layer is there because we have seen the conversations between Eve and her father earlier in the show. The premise of the sort of conversation Mark and Eve’s dad is sexist by nature because it completely cuts Eve’s agency as an individual out of the equation- it’s paternalistic and is on brand for the type of chauvinism that Eve’s dad engages in within the contexts of the show.

All I thought this season was "Man I love Machine Head" and "I miss the Maulers"

The show is giving eves dad dimensionality. We’ve seen that eves dad is an utter asshole and wildly ignorant, however, he wants what HE thinks is best for his daughter. Had they included that crazy conversation from the comic, all of that development from previous episodes as well as the atom eve special would have been useless because that is a disgusting unforgivable thing to say about not only your daughter, but your wife. That works in the comics because a lot of these side characters like eves parents are pretty one toned.

14:17 I agree that they definitely nerfed the cigar scene, but the added scene with the dishes was supposed to symbolize the total lack of respect he had for Eve’s mom by the way he demanded for her to watch the show, and by her reaction. That scene was concerning to both the audience, as well as Mark & Eve.

Maybe it deserves a bit more credit
