There’s a reason so many footballers who have actually shared the pitch with Lionel Messi call him the GOAT, an alien, someone from another planet, or simply the God of football.

I think playing against Messi leaves even elite footballers spellbound.

Imagine being one of the best players in the world. You’ve trained your entire life for this level. You’ve studied Messi, prepared for him, and when the match begins, you give absolutely everything to stop him.

One against one? Almost impossible.

So you bring two players. Then three. Sometimes four.

You close the space, predict his movement, use your strength, speed, intelligence and experience—and somehow, he still finds a way through.

And that’s where frustration slowly becomes disbelief… and eventually acceptance.

Because what else could you have done?

These aren’t ordinary fans watching from the stands. These are elite footballers who understand better than almost anyone what the human body and mind should be capable of doing with a football.

And then Messi does something beyond even their understanding of what should be possible.

That “Whoa… how is this even possible?” moment.

Maybe that’s why so many opponents don’t seem bitter after failing to stop him. Instead, they speak about him with admiration, almost feeling honoured that they shared a pitch with him.

They didn’t just watch Messi’s greatness.

They experienced it. They tried to stop it.

And after giving everything and realizing it still wasn’t enough, sometimes losing doesn’t leave disappointment.

It leaves acceptance. Respect. Awe.

Maybe that’s why words like GOAT, alien, from another planet and God of football sound so natural coming from the very players who faced him.

#TheGOAT✨🐐🔟

Messi NEVER spoke with Catalonian accent, he always kept his Rosario, Argentinian accent.

And England just became the latest victim, because Messi just did not have “a quiet day”. 😂😂😂

The only correction to make, Messi speaks like a rosarino, which speaks volumes of how much of an argentine he is. He never spoke with a European accent, always speaking like a common joe of Argentina
