別再盲目壓抑！學會觀察情緒，讓心不累！｜芭芭拉葛芙 Barbara Goff《從神經科學認識情緒》

The speaker, who has served in spiritual healing ministry for many years, has observed that church members often struggle to process the emotional signals God sends. She combines neuroscience with biblical truth to explain that the two are mutually inspiring, not contradictory. Emotions are the most primal survival mechanism God created in humanity. Ancient and automatically operating, they occupy a large portion of the brain and react extremely quickly. However, it is necessary to learn to process and process them, avoiding being controlled by emotions. Philippians mentions that God's peace guards the heart and mind like a sentinel, indicating that emotions should be examined and managed with God's peace, not suppressed. The brain can be divided into the limbic system and the prefrontal cortex. The limbic system is ancient and rapid, with the amygdala acting as an alarm system, constantly detecting threats. The prefrontal cortex is newer and develops more slowly, responsible for rational analysis and calmness. A hand-brain model illustrates this: the wrist to the palm represents the brainstem, the thumb represents the amygdala, and the four fingers represent the prefrontal cortex. Normally, the five fingers function harmoniously. When threatened, the amygdala's alarm triggers a breakdown in rational thought; after calming down, the prefrontal cortex resumes normal function. Childhood trauma leaves a mark on the brain, making the amygdala oversensitive, hindering the prefrontal cortex's calming function. Marital problems often stem from triggered personal trauma, rather than relationship issues. Individuals need to learn to identify triggers and understand that these are not personal flaws, but rather the influence of traumatic memories. Romans mentions a renewal of the mind, specifically a structural and radical transformation. A healthy emotional state is not about being constantly positive, but about maintaining a balanced ratio of positive and negative emotions. It is recommended to set aside time each day to review your emotional state, observing physical reactions, mood changes, and coping patterns when facing negative emotions. The goal is to learn management, not forced optimism. The Holy Spirit helps the weak with unspeakable groans, leading believers to recognize their true inner state, breaking down cultural and familial misconceptions about emotions, and learning to honestly face and wisely manage emotions.
