  My wife & I rode the Phantom Canyon from Cripple Creek to Canyon city on an Electraglide in Sept 2023. We loved it. Great scenery and views. We called it "26 miles of rumble strips" due to the wash board road. It was amazing. Thanks for the video. We yelled "I remember that!" multiple time while watching your video.

  I did this ride in the Fall of 2023.  The descent down Shelf Road is incredibly beautiful but has about an hour of severe washboard, but it is so worth it.  You will stop often to take pictures.  I think this will be a yearly ride.

  Just did it last weekend. Long way up but worth it when you hit the German bakery in Victor! Take plenty of water (3 bottles at least). Almost no traffic on a weekend.

  I like that ride. Basically writing an old train track that&apos;s been torn up. The old mining trains used to run through there that&apos;s why the road is perfect for cycling. Lots of train tunnels! There&apos;s about 12 moon but I know of just off of that route.

  Yes sir, &nbsp;those Colorado altitudes are hard on us Carolina boys. &nbsp;But hey, my first time riding in Brevard was pretty tough too. The fact is it&apos;s always worth the price of admission wherever you&apos;re at.

  I drug a friend from Ohio up Phantom Canyon and down the Shelf Road. &nbsp;The altitude was hard on her, and also going uphill for several hours was emotionally challenging. &nbsp;&quot;When will this ever end?&quot; &nbsp;She started liking me again when we got back to the car.<br><br>It&apos;s higher altitude and a bit rougher but another excellent train grade is the Alpine Tunnel Historic District starting in Pitkin (sorta near Gunnison) is even prettier.<br><br>Closer to civilization I&apos;d also suggest the Switzerland Trail near Nederland, about 15 miles west of Boulder.
