  The fact that Peter Criss, the guy KISS fired, was more respectful to his replacement than the band treated Eric speaks volumes.

  I catered KISS backstage back in the 80s. I had the unique pleasure of meeting Eric Carr. Like many preformers, he came into the crew room to find out where his dressing room was. I&apos;ll never forget it. He came up to me and introduced himself, &quot;excuse me miss, my name is Eric Carr and I&apos;m the drummer for KISS, (I knew who he was), and I&apos;m not sure where my dressing room is, can you help?&quot; He was so polite and nice. I escorted him to his dressing room and he asked ( again, many performers asked this as well) what city they were in. I told him Topeka and he looked a little confused. So I said &quot; Topeka, Kansas, you know, Dorothy and Toto.&quot; He laughed and thanked me. I&apos;ll never forget that. It made me sad the day he passed. Sweet man.

  Let’s talk about a contrast… When Rick Allen of Def Leppard lost his arm, they stopped everything and allowed him time to heal and figure out how to play drums with only one arm, so they waited four years for him to get better before they put out their next album. That is how Eric cars illness should have been handled, but we are talking about Stanley and Simmons here. It was all about the dollar signs.

  There&apos;s a lot of reasons to dislike KISS, but for me Paul&apos;s book and his admission that he knew and covered for former manager Bill Aucoin&apos;s predatory behavior toward little boys really made it clear they&apos;re all awful. Claiming he knew all along that Bill Aucoin was molesting children he found at KISS shows, and even found Bill in bed with an undressed 14 year old child. And Paul was totally fine with all of that until it messed with Bill&apos;s ability to manage the band/keep schedule and only then was he fired. After everything Paul claims to have actually witnessed and knew about for years, he still made absolutely no effort to inform law enforcement or even protect the actual literal child fan he found in Bill&apos;s hotel room bed. Then waited 30 years to say anything about it until after Bill Aucoin died. &nbsp;Something is obviously wrong with him. And it blows my mind that he not only admitted that, he wrote it in his memoir then read out loud in a soundbooth for the audio book, listened to the playback and let it be published without ever catching what a horrific thing he just casually dropped thinking he looked like a hero. Absolute twat.

  It’s pretty messed up the way Eric Carr was treated, especially considering his condition at the time. He ended up dying on the same day as Freddie Mercury actually. Hope he’s resting easy, along with Ace.

  I met Gene at a meet and greet at a record store in Toronto in 1992. I had a bootleg b&amp;w candid pic of Gene for him to sign. We I got up to meet Gene, he said &apos;Where did you get that picture?&apos;, in a kind of irritated way. He ended up signing it but thought that was kind of uncool.

  The day that the solo albums hit the store, four of us drew straws to determine who would buy which album and make 4 (metal) cassettes of it for everyone. Fortunately, my straw had Peter written on it. I&apos;ve still got the album today, and I&apos;m on my way upstirs to listen to it for the first time in decades now!

  I have said this for years. Gene is in charge of marketing for the band, and Paul has the final word for KISS. No one else is a member of the band, according to Gene and Paul.
