30 years and counting, no release of Windows has ever truly managed to top Windows 95. It seemed to get nearly everything right, from a snappy, vibrant interface to seriously impressive 32-bit multitasking even on low end computers. Since that first day I discovered this software, it's held a special place in my heart. It easily stands as one of the greatest operating systems of all time - alongside Arch Linux, of course.

I still remember the day I first watched this tape with you, mere hours before its publication here. In the moment, it felt underwhelming with all the bad billion dollar jokes, but it's quickly shown how valuable it is for history nonetheless - already assuredly debunking the "launch dance" myth the algorithm forced everyone to believe, and a fake RTM date inserted into the Wikipedia article until this video surfaced.

It can't be understated how much of a miracle it is that you've managed to secure a copy of this once elusive video and digitize it in the most optimal quality one could get out of a VHS tape. I'm sure it must get downplayed a lot, but such a sought after video creates immensely high stakes for it to end up in the right hands, and you've proven you were the perfect guy for the task of bringing this event to light. The contributions you've made to preserving the history of this era of Windows are truly groundbreaking, and I couldn't be more proud to have been with you all these years.

    Wow, that's quite a leap from Windows 11 to 95. Can't wait.

Steve Ballmer was only 30 years in that 1986 video but he looked about 55.

All the people who hated this product were all Apple users in Nebraska

This is very nearly the most 90s thing I've ever seen. Jay Leno, pleated oversized slacks, Clinton jokes, retro tech. I love it.

Young people will laugh at this. But we older people know that this was ground breaking at that time.

I was 7 years old when my father scheduled a Saturday night event at home just to try Windows 95 in our 486 DX2 PC. I still remember clearly him asking me to pass the next floppy disk during the installation process and I could not wait to the end to see if the MS Paint had new features :D
