  Sad how nothing has changed since Perfect Blue was released in the 90s. If anything, it seems to have gotten worse with the advancements of technology and the normalization of mass surveillance. I hope that idol culture undergoes a huge culture shift because this is in no way healthy for the idols or their fans.

  I was into kpop in high school and i’ve always found the phrases “dating allegations” and “dating scandal” lowkey insane<br><br><br>like theres literal peds and rapists running around (not just in the kpop scene) that still get a lot of support and y’all mad at people for dating

  Britney Spears set the precedent of being tired of being a show pony; even so American pop stars have far more freedom to exist than K and J pop stars; it&apos;s heartbreaking how psychotic parasocial relationships are encouraged.

  It is not just idols and singers, even voice actors are at risk of this too. The voice of Nezuko, Akari Kito, lost followers because they found out that she has a boyfriend. And also the Japanese voice actor of Levi from Attack on Titan had to apologize to his fans for betraying them, by getting married and having a baby!
