Matt Damon telling the story of talking to Tom Cruise about the Burj stunt is amazing. “So I get another safety guy…’

People think Tom Cruise is legitimately insane for doing all of these insane stunts but he’s not. He is living out every single teenage boys dream of not only being an action movie star, but doing their own crazy stunts.

Given that Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol is Brad Bird's directorial debut for a live-action movie, I'm so surprised he handled the action and pacing so masterfully, it feels like the work of a seasoned live-action action movie director

The secretary got killed after delivering the mission to Ethan just like the things get self destruct after delivering mission 😅 26:01

The "Light The Fuse" and Mission Accomplished" lines was what was said in the original Mission Impossible show.

Jeremy Renner was easily one of my favorite additions to the Mission Impossible franchise. I really wish we had seen more of his character after Rogue Nation, he was one of the few who could truly match Tom Cruise’s energy and presence. I was hoping he might return after Fallout, especially since his Avengers schedule wouldn’t have conflicted at that point and he has said in some interviews where he is open to return as Brandt someday. Oh well, it is what it is. I always miss him so much in an MI movie 😢

It’s not that MI2 and MI3 are bad they’re good movies, but Ghost Protocol is the movie that really got the franchise back on track from where it was when the first mission impossible came out.

I like how the gadgets rarely work in this one. It’s a fun running gag.

A few fun facts.
1. The sequence with Tom Cruise climbing on the the Burj Khalifa is real. No green screen. No CG used to replace or extend the background. That was real.
2. That sequence was shot in 70mm IMAX film.
3. Their initial insurance company refused to condone the stunt because it was so dangerous, so Tom Cruise had Brad Bird fire that insurance company and hire another one that would condone the stunt.

Lemme rephrase that.
THEY. FIRED. A. WHOLE. INSURANCE. COMPANY.

And I think it's because of this, Tom Cruise became one of 2 actors in the world who have to have their own insurance policy due to being to expensive to insure.
