Лекция Владимира Сурдина «Ресурсы космоса» книга «Просто космос. Задачи о межпланетных путешествиях»

April 17 (Friday) at 7:00 PM: Lecture by Vladimir Surdin, jointly with the popular science library "Nauchka," "Space Resources," as part of the book presentation "Simply Space. Problems of Interplanetary Travel" (Alpina Non-Fiction Publishing House). 📌 Purchase the book - https://alpinabook.ru/catalog/book-pr... 📢 Some say that space is a vast emptiness. Generally speaking, this is true, but nuances are important. Beyond Earth, we find many things that don't exist on Earth. For example, emptiness, or vacuum, is one example. On Earth, we expend considerable energy creating the vacuum needed by scientists and engineers, but in space, it's free and much better. On Earth, we build gigantic and very expensive particle accelerators, but from space, particles arrive naturally and with much greater energy. On Earth, we will never compress matter to the same density as celestial bodies. And we will never achieve magnetic fields like those in space. Yet physicists need all of this to study matter. Chemists are thrilled to be able to study free radicals in space. Not to mention biologists with their hopes of finding extraterrestrial life! Beyond Earth, ideal spaceports and inexhaustible energy sources, new life forms, and a new habitat for Earthlings (a "spare planet") await us. By the way, what about gold, platinum, and diamonds? Vladimir Surdin will discuss this in his lecture. 🗣 Lecturer: Vladimir Georgievich Surdin, astronomer, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor of the Physics Department at Moscow State University, Senior Researcher at the Sternberg State Astronomical Institute (GAIS MSU), science popularizer, winner of the Belyaev Prize and the Enlightener Prize in 2012. 📌 Admission is free with advance registration!
