I have clarified it 100 times before that Sergio Gor didn't say J&K is an 'integral ' part of India, he just said J&K is an "important" part of India. Any moment Trump or Gor may change mind and invite Munir for dinner! Trump is facing an election, he needs the support of Indian diaspora to win the election. Besides, the trade pact is yet to be signed. There is enough time for Trump or Gor go back to their old position. Besides, India is a sovereign country. Does India really needs a 'certificate' from a foreign diplomat about the status of our Jammu and Kashmir?

BTW, the same position of Joint Secretary that Puri held back in Rao's era, our current EAM held from 2004 to 2007 when he negotiated the Civil Nuclear Deal passed in 2008. This was one of the most, if not the most, crucial pivots in Indian foreign policy, I think, though I could be wrong....

Just as India went economically and militarily behind Pakistan in the early 1960s to closing the gap by the 1970s and eventually surpassing it economically, technologically, and strategically after the 1990s, the Pakistan-Kashmir chapter now appears closed from India’s perspective. However,India can finally focus in its major challenge China. India must similarly narrow the economic, technological, and military gap with China so that the border dispute can ultimately be managed and resolved peacefully. We have 20 years India needs to close the gap with China and make it expensive for China to blackmail to India on Arunachal Pradesh. Also this says when you become economically, militarily and technologically strong every other country will listen to you and compromise with you .
