I think she should have listed the other times she didn’t share the social scene with family. She narrated them earlier when giving background to the story but instead of pointing them out to her mother to demonstrate the pattern of exclusion which indicates that the Thanksgiving garage seating was not a one-time situation, she lists the payments she made for house upkeep. That wasn’t “all we’ve done for you”; it was all she’s done for them.
