  My cousin once was a pier runner. It was at port curaçao. She thought having dinner in port would be ok. I told her you are nuts. I got on board. From my balcony I saw her. I screamed that’s my cousin! She was running like crazy. She made it by 2 seconds. They almost left her. 😂

  I don't know why people keep doing that. If they say you need to be back on board by 2 p m. Then, you need to be back by 1:30 pm !

  The reason they have boats moving out of the Caribbean for hurricane season is insurance. If your boat is in the area during hurricane season, they will cancel your insurance. So you have to pay for a crew to move it , or ship it.

  Many years ago, we were on a group cruise and one of the ladies came running down the pier shouting "stop" as we were pulling away.  She talked to the port agent and they brought her out on the pilot boat when they picked him up.  I can't remember which port it was.  But she had to jump from the pilot boat onto the open hatch on the ship.  Very scary!
