I feel like you’re one of the very few that understand or explain this properly. “Steep” AOA is more a product of where on the circle the contact occurs than steepness of the swing.

Have been waiting for someone to make a video on arc depth forever! Love this. Bravo.

What a great video. I find that little saying like 'steeper not deeper' are easier to carry mentally to practice and on course. With driver I remind myself to start 'hips before hands' on my downswing.

Really insightful and great Alex explained it great. No coach was able to identify why I kept hitting duffs until I went to my current coach - so far I have only had one lesson and currently working on set up only. Still no where near where I want to be in terms of strike. I’m anticipating I will build on that on the next lesson which I’m excited for.

This is my problem exactly. Practicing off of matts doing quite well. But when playing Im duffing it often hitting behind the ball.
After many years I finally located & live close enough to a practice range that is off natural grass!

That was awesome! Great teachers just simplifies it.. bad coaches make you go around in circles.

I’ve seen two different coaches for this exact problem. They couldn’t explain this concept to me. They said I just needed to practice clipping the ball and don’t get too steep and deep. Thank you Inci for this lesson and Alex of this great explanation and fix . I would never of thought it could be in the takeaway. Went to the driving range and no fat shots . The sound of clipping that ball first was so satisfying and pain free.
Cheers Inci
