American Reacts to a Typical British Lunch… This Is NORMAL?!

This is a VERY poor representation of a UK meal deal (and I love Jolly). There are some really good options available that aren't mentioned. The sandwich options are extensive and include seafood/veggie/wrap choices, a lot on much better bread, plus pasta/salad bowls. You don't have to have crisps(chips) or chocolate, you can have fruit/protein bars, and drinks cover everything from water to fruit smoothies and chilled coffee.

I've seen someone else react to this video. The deliberately chose some of the worst, least popular options in the meal deal.. I believe they did another version because of the backlash!

That really pissed me off. Why did the Jolly's deliberately pick the worst combinations most Brits wouldn't pick either.

Jolly love to give people terrible examples of British food just to get the reactions and therefore the views, but it does reinforce stereotypes. My go to Tesco meal deal is a satay chicken wrap, Thai sweet chilli chicken McCoys crisps and a cloudy apple juice.

I am a Brit, and we used to drink Lucozade if we were 'under the weather', or sick. It was a health tonic. Now it is just another energy drink.

I hate how they deliberately choose the WORST meal deal options, same thing for their other videos I’ve seen, it’s like they’ve built their brand on “Americans hating uk food, British school kids loving American food”

(UK) Did they deliberately choose the worst possible options?

They really chose the worst. Last meal deal I bought was a chicken tikka wrap, gü chocolate cheesecake and an iced coffee. It cost £4 from OneStop who are owned by Tesco

Lucozade was originally a health drink invented by a pharmacist.

There is no prawn flavour in the prawn cocktail crisps, so for her to taste the fish from the smell was totally her imagination. They are flavoured like the cocktail sauce. The sandwich choices were terrible, and Lucozade is used for when you are ill, high in glucose to lift your energy. Beef hula hoops are delicious, My friend in America absolutely loved frazzles when I sent him some. I honestly think JOLLY does these videos to make our food look bad.

They have definitely chosen the meal deals that will cause the most controversy. Lots of them come with flavour and a plethora of fillings.

The no mayo thing stems from butter being the common and more "traditional" sandwich base spread, then there was a period of about 10 years where you couldn't find a sandwich with butter instead of mayo (and if you don't like mayo in a sandwich, this is a problem). Those no mayo sandwiches seem to take the attitude of "if you don't like mayo, you must not want any flavour at all".

If you're going to try Branston pickle, I'd recommend a good cheddar, lettuce and a moderate amount of "sandwich pickle" which is finely cut to make it easier to keep in the sandwich

Couple in red tops didn’t like any thing, even before it hit their mouths, but both look like they could clear an all you can eat Buffett.
