  TotK is sorta odd. Like, it's a masterpiece, but there's a reason why many people were calling it a disappointing masterpiece

  I&apos;m genuinely probably the number 1 fan of tears of the kingdom. It was my most anticipated game ever and sure enough by the end it didn&apos;t just become my favorite game of all time, but I genuinely 100% know for a fact that no other video game will ever reach the same peaks that I have experienced with this game. I already loved BOTW&apos;s world so much, but I with tears, I felt even more immersed and emotionally invested. I get that for some exploring the same map isn&apos;t as exciting but that never bothered me, especially when there&apos;s so much new stuff like soooo many awesome new caves to explore! There was just so many fun and magical moments. Whether it&apos;s playing around with the abilities that allow for infinite possibilities, or exploring the breathtaking sky islands, or discovering a freaking <b>**</b> that you can ride in the depths, it&apos;s all just so peak. Everything about the game resonated with my entire being, I just love it so freaking much. Also another huge reason is the entire wind temple which instantly become my favorite segment in any video game ever. The Colgera fight and theme acended my soul to heights I never even knew were possible (Yes I did cry).

  For me, it was the handling of the story. For what was advertised as a direct sequel to BOTW, the story of TOTK was a mess and sort of swept what happened in BOTW under the rug most of the time. Sheikah Tech vanished with little explanation to be replaced with the Zonai Tech, the lack of environmental story telling, the way some old NPCs know you (Like Hudson and Rhondson) while others act like they&apos;ve never even heard of you (Like Bolson), the dragon tears cutscenes spoiling what happened to Zelda if you get them in the wrong order, and the IDENTICAL cutscenes for the four major dungeons??? Yeah, TOTK was arguably better in terms of gameplay in some areas, and some of its sidequests were phenominal, but BOTW was better in all other aspects in my opinion because it cared about the story it was trying to tell.

  20 years later, the Zelda Cycle is alive and well lol. Can’t wait for when the new Zelda comes out, so people will speak fondly about TOTK

  TOTK is an amazing game, it made me fall in love with the world all over again. The abilities really make the difference, especially how they play off each other.

I felt the same about building stuff in ToTk but I think it&apos;s just so tedious and slow that makes me want to do just the simple and useful-enough stuff. Creating a mecha just to see it standing there or running out of energy in 2 minutes is just so much effort for...almost nothing. idk. I don&apos;t think it&apos;s well implemented (edited timestamp)

  My weird circumstance was that I played TOTK before beating BOTW because I was kind of not into gaming for a few years. So the experience always felt fresh to me and going back to BOTW feels kind of like a downgrade.

  Of all the combinations, the flamethrower boomerang/iceemitter Boomerang combo is definitely the coolest after you throw it.

  I had beaten BotW 3 times, and TotK felt like a 4th playthrough. It&apos;s essentially the same exact game, but with more busy-work.
