This honestly changed the way I think about intelligence. Learning faster isn’t about being “gifted” — it’s about understanding how to focus, connect ideas, and remember what actually matters. Definitely one of those videos worth watching twice.

Learning faster isn’t about remembering everything—it’s about understanding what matters, asking better questions, and ignoring the noise. The more you simplify, the faster your mind can connect the dots. What’s one learning habit that changed the way you think?

This honestly changed how I see intelligence. Learning faster isn’t necessarily about being naturally gifted—it’s about knowing how to focus, make connections, and retain the things that actually matter. Definitely a video I’ll be watching twice. 🧠🔥

“Hide the answer and see if you can bring it back.” That’s such a simple but powerful way to test whether you actually learned something or just recognize it.

It’s interesting how the study methods that feel harder can actually be the ones that help you remember more. I’ve probably relied on rereading way too much.

Such a wake-up call! It’s crazy how our brains trick us into thinking we’re learning when we’re actually just recognizing information. This is exactly what I needed to hear.❤

The realization that familiarity is an illusion hit so hard. It explains why watching a tutorial feels effortless, but the second you try it on your own, your brain goes completely blank—the screen was doing the heavy lifting the whole time.

The video nails why the best learning strategies actually feel worse in the moment:

1. Struggling to pull info out (Bjork's desirable difficulties) is literally the mechanism of memory formation.

2. Spacing sessions feels slower, but it rebuilds the faded trail.

3. Interleaving makes you get more questions wrong during practice, but it's what prepares you for real tests.

4. Fast learners aren't gifted with magic brains; like Simon & Chase showed with chess players, they just have existing mental schemas that give new information a place to hook into.

A crucial point from cognitive psychology that this video highlights so well is the trap of confusing "recognition" with "retrieval". In my psychology practice, I constantly see exhausted students who spend hours re-reading or highlighting, feeling like they "know" the material—when in reality, they're only strengthening visual recognition. The moment you ask them to retrieve the information with the page closed, it all falls apart. Breaking that illusion of fluency is the very first step toward real learning 😊

it's a skill built on knowing how to direct your attention, weave connections between ideas and hold onto the information that genuinely matters.

This explained something I’ve experienced so many times, spending hours studying and feeling like I know something, only to realize I can’t explain it without looking at my notes. The part about making learning feel harder really stuck with me. I’m going to try testing myself and spacing things out instead of constantly rereading. Sometimes the problem isn’t that we can’t learn; it’s that we’ve been making learning too comfortable.
