  Last week, I watched a grown adult use AI to write a short paragraph about a retiring colleague to post in a newsletter.  They had worked closely together for 10 years and this woman still couldn’t be bothered writing it herself.  The AI result sounded terrible.  And when someone read it and told her that it sounded impersonal and like it had been written by AI, she looked offended.  Ummm, it was impersonal and written by AI!  People are just so ridiculous now.

  "It's like a calculator" the hell it is! Calculators don't randomly hallucinate & tell me 2 plus 2 equals 10,000. AI can't even tell me how many P's are in the word apple

  About that &quot;getting the jokes&quot; bit: a couple of months ago I&apos;ve been arguing with some AI apologists and they <b>unironically</b> called me lame and old for remembering jokes and anecdotes &apos;cause it&apos;s dead weight in their eyes. According to them, I should&apos;ve scrubbed my memory clean so I could learn as much as possible about their silicon overlord, but, in my hubris, I didn&apos;t, so soon enough I&apos;ll be left behind, laid off and cracking jokes with other unemployed people on the streets before dying of starvation.<br>Like, there&apos;s no discussion to be had with these people!
