Let me know if you've struggled with these feelings before. What sort of things do you really want to build in your worlds?

For a game where you're supposed to do and build everything you want, it is really weird that players decided to create these dumb rules that limit the fun you can have

I'm the kind of person who loves to 'uplift' and expand villages. For that reason, I enjoy making structures that fit in with the aesthetic of the village itself. Giant mansions and towers are one thing, sure, but having a row of tiny villager houses is nice. It's functional, it feels like a part of the world.

It's funny how minecraft is mimicing art movements through the ages. How artists went from realism to abstract and even absurdity for the same reasons people now go from try-hard sweat mode on buildings to simplicity.

The "hardcore 100 days" meta really did change the way people perceived Minecraft. Suddenly everyone was treating this silly sandbox way too seriously, criticizing themselves and each other into not playing anymore. How the hell did we let ourselves be convinced we "weren't good enough" to play a block game??

I'm a ridiculously bad builder in minecraft and I often lose motivation when I play in survival because it's difficult, and creative is too boring. Lately me and my boyfriend have been playing together and I've found that telling myself I can always fix/upgrade builds later when I want to instead of trying to make every build perfect has made me way more motivated to build!! It also has the side effect of all my builds looking straight out of herobine days

I think there&apos;s a nice middle ground too. Like you can still build a house that&apos;s not a box and has some nice decorations, a stair roof and a cute colour palette, but isn&apos;t absolutely huge and full of decor. And simultaneously, you can have a box right next to it.<br>Your world doesn&apos;t need to adhere to any specific style. It&apos;s much like art: one one page you could have a fully rendered masterpiece that you work on over a long period, and another some simple doodles. Both are valid expressions of your creativity.

Maybe this doesn&apos;t warrant as &quot;deep&quot; a thought, but I think it does say something about us as players when we create a world to escape reality for a bit, to then only drag this sort of prison with us. Needing an escape from the escape is a weird feeling.

This is similar to how writing works. Dan Harmon once gave great advice: Try to write as badly as you can. It seems dumb but what this does is it takes the pressure off of writing well, something that a lot of times keeps us from writing because of the fear that it will not be good. So then, you’re free to write however you like, and it’s after that first draft is done, that you then make it good in the editing stage of the process. The fear of not being good enough makes burnout so much worse and more frequent.

I once built an exact replica of a building i saw on YouTube, i did everything exactly as on the video, and i had fun doing so, but when i finished i was disappointed, and later disgusted even, it felt not mine, so, only logical thing i could do, i blew it up and built my own house just the way i liked it
