  Hi Heather,<br>I live in Puerto Rico, and even though we do have a drought, our government never works toward keeping our systems maintained. Our governor is a Trump sycophant who is letting millionaires and billionaires buy up land to make developments that don&apos;t help ordinary people. <br>Esencia is a project in the southern part of the island, and our government wants to drain an aquifer to make way for million dollar homes and golf courses. This isn&apos;t even the only development planned. <br>We need to keep protesting and get these people out of power. <br>Our island needs more progressive politicians and to get rid of the corruption we have here, too.<br>Thanks for keeping us informed. You always make me feel hopeful 💕

  Kind of ironic that RFK Jr is talking about one of the keys to healthy living is clean water, all the while the Trump Administration is destroying Americans access to clean water.

  The dialysis department in the hospital where my cousin works, in a small, rural town of about 5,000 people, shut down. This is probably the largest hospital in about an hour radius. My cousin had to move over an hour away to the next closest hospital that had a dialysis department. Even if you think you’re safe, you never are.

  Where I live we are currently in a drought. Our local water source is a lake with a water treatment plant next to it. The lack of rain has caused the city to declare a water emergency. Yet, still the city is allowing companies to build more condos, more homes, more apartment buildings with ridiculously high rent prices. More people will put more of a strain on the local water system.

  There is a water crisis AND an electrical crisis in my homeland of Puerto Rico and a lot of it has to do with government corruption and negligence. That must be understood.

  I hadn&apos;t heard it put that way before, but it makes total sense. To think that, in the 21st century, we&apos;d have a Secretary of Health and Human Services who doesn&apos;t believe in germ theory... How is this real? Where did we go so wrong?

  People, when things get bad, look to the helpers. If there are no helpers, become a helper. Be Mister Rogers. Talk to your neighbors and build community. There is no other way but forward. There is no giving up.
