  How the iron fist of the government slowly strangled Puritanism to death. &nbsp;<br>John Bunyan wasn’t a preacher, uneducated, called merely a mechanic, so called, &nbsp;preaching in the public. &nbsp;He was arrested and imprisoned 12 years. There he wrote Pilgrim’s Progress, literary classic. The model for the great burden of sin. &nbsp;Grace Abounding To The Chief of Sinners, his own conversion. &nbsp;He cried with relief. He believed, “it was too late for me to look after Heaven, Christ would not forgive me”. Introspective moralism. &nbsp;One day he was passing through a field. &nbsp;Thy righteousness is in Heaven, the thought he heard aloud. Now did my chains fall off my legs. Now I went home rejoicing. My righteousness was Jesus Christ, the same now and forever. &nbsp; He was preaching everywhere and it brought the crowds. &nbsp;When Charles the II heard, he said, that illiterate tinkerer. Charles II attacked and made public law, Public offices could be held only by Anglican’s, &nbsp;only Anglicans could go to University. The regime of Charles II excluded non conformist’s and made them second class citizens, unable to be formally educated. Oxford and Cambride had been the Puritan seminaries education training grounds - the next generation &nbsp;barred, the men of theological calibre died out, leaving Puritanism never taken seriously again. &nbsp;Puritanism was a movement, the Word of God. No strong biblical teaching; a slow death, the strong muscle of God’s Word, God’s Truth, strangled. &nbsp;Without strong biblical education, over the years, slow death, no last stand, un-noticed; the Puritan followers began to deny the Holy Trinity, They drifted away from Orthodoxy, &nbsp;scattered and leaderless. The end of scholars in biblical teaching, called dissenters’s for at least 200 years later did Biblical teaching return. Jonathan Edwards, British Theologian, not a Puritan but biblical teaching return. &nbsp;The Reformation was not over, Martin Luther, the Word of God the only authority. Sola Scriptura. The Bible - Salvation recovered, Christ our Savior. Luther was excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church, 1600’s. <br><br>Reformation Now - Christ Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, God’s Glory Alone. <br>Without Biblical Teaching, leaving mankind confused How - Heaven, God Our Father, children of God. &nbsp;How to recapture Mankind’s Awakening to The Greatest Love Ever Known. New Testament - Biblical Teaching John 15:13<br><br>Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. <br><br>Jesus is LORD, Savior, Redeemer, Jesus is everything. By Jesus, through Jesus, in Jesus. John Nichols Ligonier Ministries, America.
