The FG800 series is no slouch of a guitar. I had a FG840 for 7 years, and was the guitar I played to learn how to play guitar. When the Solid top begins to open up, it starts to sound like a vintage instrument. I played a FG 75, the action was so high you couldnt play past the 5th fret, but it vibrated so hard i thought it was gonna fall apart. After these FG guitars age, they will have a sound that will compete with higher end guitars.

I would love to own a LL16 someday. Ive thought about the LL6, but it will depend

FG400 1986. Bought new and still sits next to my chair in the living room 40 years later. The fret wear at the cowboy chords must be 1/8th of an inch deep.

I have the FG9R and the LS16 ARE they are both unbelievable guitars. Like astonishingly good.

I wanted a Gibson or Martin so bad but after many many weeks researching, the perfectionist in me made it a no brainer.

I bought an FG-5 in 2019. Lovely guitar. Awesome low end sustain compared to so many others I've played. A very smooth all round sound I find.

I had an f g 160 i think it was from sixty eight or sixty nine. I had the privilege to learn on that guitar. It was the easiest guitar I ever played easier to play than electric guitars. And anytime I played with someone regardless of what kind of guitar they had , they always wanted to play that guitar. The action always stayed the same regardless of the string size. I miss her and look for her sometimes online.

Not sure what guitar techs will read this, but I inherited a 1968 FG-180 and it plays perfectly clean… with the nut slot clearance at the 1st fret (capo 3) being .004” and the neck relief (capo 1 + 13) being 003”… 58 years later. JFC I don’t know how they got tolerances like that to play without fret buzz. I sure as hell can’t do that with any other guitar I own. Much respect, Nippon Gakki.

Yamaha FG-180 leftie, red label, second owner. I had it for more than 35 years and still palys well.

I have a Yamah FG 335 I bought new in 1977. I played it all the time for the first 2 years. Then as John lennon said " life is what happens while you are making other plans ". I'm now retired and have all the time I need to go at it again. So after around 50 years in it's case it's out and it still looks brand new other than the top has darkened nicely. When I get back to where I was I will get an FG 830, but the 335 will stay with me.
