Japan made CX5, build quality is top notch. I have a 9 year old CX9 Japan made, and all what I do is regular oil change, replace battery and brakes. Not a single issue at -40°C in Canadian winter.

When discussing the software suite and safety features for cars going forward, could you include what features are segmented behind a subscription/paywall and how much those cost?
For family cars like these, you tend to keep them until they die which outlasts any subscription trials bundled

Im a toyota guy and Ive had many Mazdas as rentals and one thing they do well is hiding the cheapness of their interiors. When youre driving them they feel a lot more expensive than they are. When youre in a Toyota, you just know you’re in an econobox. Also toyotas JBL systems have always sucked.

The Mazda tuning philosophy reminds me of BMW back in the day. Balanced chassis with matching inputs, but engines that never overpowered the chassis.

The deer was courteous enough to cross at the intersection sign!

68 year old light infantry veteran, and our family are all Toyota fan boys! We’ve owned 5 Tacoma Trucks, 3 Corollas, and now we just took possession of our 2026 Hybrid. XLE RAV4. This is our 7th RAV4 and we’ve owned every generation! I could not warm up to any Corolla Cross for our 2nd vehicle so I got a 2025 CX30 with the 2.5 L NA with its 191 horses! Even my wife likes to get groceries with the CX30 (and she knows how to drive stick). Get what works for you!

Peace Be The Journey!

I saw a pair of geese at my job today and I thought, what a cute couple. Nice of Mark and Jack to stop by!

After driving Honda, Subaru, Toyota, and Mazda, my wife (70 yo with NO care about cars) chose the CX-5. While I was intrigued by the RAV4's electronics, she hated the tin box, and drivetrain noise.

Drove and tested in detail the Mazda CX5, 50 and 30. Did the same for the 2026 RAV4 XLE Premium. Ended up purchasing the RAV4. No regrets. The RAV4 rides as good as the CX models and the gas mileage is unreal. Averaging 48-52mpg city and 43 highway consistently.
