If you'd like more of the observatory between films, there's a quieter home for it on Substack: the episodes as pure audio, quiet versions for sleep, and just the voice on its own. The link's in the channel description.

I worked at the battery company where the batteries on the prob were made. I started there in *94. We were treated to a big party right after the mission was successfully completed. The woman who hand assembled those batteries was Virgina Harris.

She was already a long time employe8e when she built those batteries. She was still there when I retired in 2021. We worked together on projects a few times during my time there. We shared an office for about a decade. She was an amazing woman.

When I retired Ginny was 85. She left shortly after I did. 85! She had retired many years earlier, but the company kept her on as a contract worker.

Having worked closely with a lot of people over the years I am glad that I got to spend those years sharing space and time with Ginny.

Imagine floating there alone with nothing but storms and pressure around you.

Long ago, as a high school amateur astronomer with a small refractor telescope, Jupiter was one of my favorite celestial objects to look at. Even at low power I could clearly see its multiple cloud bands, the Great Red Spot, and Jupiter's four large moons- Watch it as it quickly rotated. I could look at Jupiter for hours- and just wonder....

Leaving a comment to push engagement, this channel is by far the best astrophysics channel I've ever come across.

This channel is criminally under-subscribed. The writing, the visuals, the voice talent; such a unique and standout astrophysics channel. One of the few channels I can put on and my kids and I watch, speechless.

One of the most amazing planetary exploration videos I have ever seen. I can only wish it went past the metallic ocean into Jupiter’s core. But: Great job!
