  Fun fact, Jordan Belfort&apos;s cellmate in prison was Tommy Chong (from Cheech and Chong) and it was him that convinced him to write the book that the movie is based on.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIeWhW02_Do&amp;t=236">3:56</a> Matthew was skinny because he filmed this role during the period he was making &apos;The Dallas Buyers Club&apos; the role that rightly won him his Oscar - beating Leonardo in fact. If you watch it - and you REALLY should - you&apos;ll see why he lost the weight (47 pounds) for real. It&apos;s an awesome performance. BTW did you know the chest pump was something he does for real. Leo saw him doing it and suggested to Scorsese that they feature it.

  My mom was a stock trader in her early 20s during the mid 80s on Wall Street and she can confirm that the office party scenes in this movie are mostly accurate

  I worked at the beer store in Toronto in the 80&apos;s ... had a friend who worked there for years, was working his way into the union. &nbsp;His cousin talked him into going to work for him at the stock exchange... he was sick of loading beer in the warehouses, etc and quit to go into stocks. &nbsp;On Friday, October 16th, 1987 we bought him a cake and had a party after his last shift at the beer store. &nbsp;His first day was on Black Monday. Needless to say he showed back up on Tuesday and asked for his job back.
