  my friend once told me girls could marry girls while we were playing with barbies, and I took that concept and ran with it. When I was in the 2nd grade, I was mad at my friend and I literally wrote in my diary "I hope she marries a man"

  Honestly the fact that when my babysitter told me to describe my ideal wedding I was like "I wanna marry my best friend and we will have dresses just like Annelise and Erica" tell you a lot about how I interpreted these movies as a child

  in my country, mermaid is translated to &quot;sirena&quot;- which is also a slur for a flamboyant gay person. so like, the bit about barbie dolphin magic having gay mermaids just reminded me of that lol
