Restoring this Abandoned Raleigh Europa! Vintage rebuild transformation ASMR!

  Beautiful transformation. My father enrolled in a bicycle repair course offered by the government after WW2. He would repair bikes for everyone in the neighbourhood. I used to help him with some of the tasks, which he performed in our back garden. He had only the most rudimentary tools and this was decades before the internet ever existed. He didn't use a magnet and the ball bearings would fly all over the place. Neither my father, myself or my brother ever had a new bike. My father would find abandoned bikes and would assemble decent bikes out of several scrap ones, mixing and matching parts as needed. He rescued more than one bike out of a river. I distinctly remember my father's bike had one of those mileometers on it. This video brought back some distant memories.

  I fell off one of these going like the clappers. Ended up in hospital with a twig in my ear! Bloody loved that bike.

  Wow! what a treat that was guys. For a 53 year old that classic Raleigh livery was, is, and always will be what I think of as the purest form of a 'Racer'. After what has been a truly terrible week in my and my family's life, thanks for a fleeting feeling of being 10 years old again without a care in the world and it all ahead of me. You just gave me 40 minutes of peace and its made all the difference. Massive thumbs up thanks guys.

  The nice thing about bicycles.  Even a 50 year old bicycle, can for a couple of hundred dollars or pounds, be refubished and have it work like a brand new one.   Actually a lot of these older bicycles rebuilt, are better then new ones.

  This takes me back to my school days in the 70’s , I remember getting a 10 speed racer .<br>You would learn how to maintain your bike , repairing punctures , changing brake blocks and adjusting them , lubricating hubs, chain , cables .<br>It taught you basic mechanics, these skills have been lost by today’s generation.

  The bike is immaculate. There&apos;s no rust at all, just dirt. The chain is soft, no rust there either. Don&apos;t mess it up. Restoring that bike is a piece of cake.

  Who else can feel the pain of the pedal slipping and smashing into your shin while you&apos;re racing down the road in shorts....... How I miss the 80s. 😂
