What if Shmi Skywalker Was a Jedi When the Force Created Anakin? Let's explore the depths of it in the video. The Masters study her with expressions ranging from confusion to suspicion. Windu (stern): "You claim the Force created this child within you. Without any father. Do you understand how that sounds?" Shmi (steady): "I understand your doubt, Master Windu. But I know what happened to me." Yoda (carefully): "Felt this conception through the Force, did you?" Shmi (quietly): "During deep meditation three months ago, I felt... something. A presence. A touch of the Force unlike anything I'd ever experienced. When I discovered I was pregnant, I knew." Ki-Adi-Mundi (skeptical): "Or you broke your vows and now seek to cover your transgression with claims of miraculous birth." Shmi (hurt but firm): "I have served this Order faithfully for decades. I have never broken my vows." Windu (pressing): "Then name the father. If you have nothing to hide..." Shmi (standing): "There is no father! Why won't you believe me?" Yoda (heavily): "Investigate this matter, we must. Until truth is known, suspended from active duty, you are." Shmi (quietly): "You're treating me like a criminal." Windu (coldly): "We're treating you like someone who may have violated the fundamental principles of our Order." Shmi (standing): "Then I see I no longer have a place here." Yoda (quickly): "Hasty, do not be, young Skywalker…" Shmi (interrupting): "My dignity means something, Master Yoda. If you cannot trust my word after all these years, then you never truly knew me at all. When my child is born and you see what the Force has created, perhaps you'll understand. But I won't stay to be treated as a liar and an oath-breaker." The door closes behind her with finality. Some months later, Anakin Skywalker is born on Tatooine...a child with a midi-chlorian count that would have shattered every record in the Temple archives. She establishes herself on Tatooine. Remote. Safe. A place to raise the child the Force gave her. The twin suns beat down on Shmi's workshop as she guides nine-year-old Anakin through the delicate process of repairing a podracer engine. His small hands move with impossible precision, the Force flowing through him like music only he can hear. They are not slaves. Anakin (concentrated): "The stabilizer coupling is wrong, Mom. It'll fail on the third turn of Boonta Eve." Shmi (proud): "Show me." He adjusts the components with intuitive understanding that would impress most engineers. But Shmi sees more...the way the Force responds to his touch, the natural connection she helped create through techniques the Council feared. Their life here is simple but fulfilling. Anakin grows strong under her guidance, learning not just mechanics but control, patience, the deeper mysteries of the Force she's discovered in exile. A shadow crosses the workshop entrance. Qui-Gon Jinn steps inside, followed by a young Padawan and a worried-looking girl in travel clothes. Qui-Gon stops dead. His weathered face transforms from casual interest to absolute shock. Qui-Gon (disbelief): "Shmi? Shmi Skywalker?" Shmi (carefully): "Qui-Gon? Is it really…” Qui-Gon (delighted): " It's been quite some years…since you disappeared from the Temple. We searched everywhere. What are you doing on..." His gaze shifts to Anakin, and the words die in his throat. The boy's Force signature hits him like a physical blow. Raw power. Unlimited potential. The kind of presence that appears once in a millennium. Qui-Gon (wonder): "This…is your son." Shmi (protective): "His name is Anakin." Anakin (polite): "Are you a friend of my mother's?" Qui-Gon (gentle): "We trained together, your mother and I. She was one of the most promising Knights in the Order. And then she…disappeared." Obi-Wan (to Shmi): "You're the Jedi? Master Qui-Gon often speaks of you." Shmi (correcting): "I was a Jedi. I chose a different path." Qui-Gon's eyes never leave Anakin. The Force swirls around the child like a visible aurora, patterns of power beyond what he thought possible. Qui-Gon (intense): "Shmi, this boy... his potential is extraordinary. I can sense it. He must be trained." Shmi (firm): "He's being trained. By me." The conversation might continue, but urgent voices from outside interrupt. Their ship requires major repairs...hyperdrive failure, according to Padmé's worried explanation. Parts that won't be available until tomorrow. #starwars #starwarswhatif #whatif
