travel vlog 🥟| glimpse into local 上海 life 🍃 authentic food 🀄visiting family👵🏻dining & shopping 🛍️

Hi everyone👋, after more than a month-long hiatus I'm back with new stories to share 😊✈️🌏 ! This is Part 1 of my Shanghai travel series, which focuses on my time spent wandering around local neighborhoods🏮🍜🎐 outside of the Bund area. It's a glimpse into local Shanghai life that not many people outside of China or the world knows about, but is a side to Shanghai that I dearly love❤️ as someone who has seen it all since childhood. I returned to Shanghai in late August 2026 to visit my grandparents, especially my paternal grandmother who is currently hospitalized🏥. It's been over 2 years since I last visited China, so this vlog is a touching digital memory of my first experience back after so long 💜 . I will release a Part 2 Shanghai vlog that has more of a touristy feel to it, but this one is grounded in real life from a local person's perspective of how Shanghai feels to them. I sincerely hope you enjoy watching it 📸! Ty for the support 😄~ 🎥 timestamps 00:00 Intro 00:26 Day 1: Flying from ATL to PVG ✈️ 02:14 17 hour journey begins 💺 03:48 Flying over Okinawa 🗾 04:12 Day 2: 1st Night in Shanghai 🌃 05:27 Lanzhou ramen & dumplings 🍜 06:04 Day 3: Visiting Grandpa 👴🏻 06:26 Hot wontons & jianbing for breakfast 🌯 07:27 Lunch at a Shanghai canteen 🥢 08:05 Dinner with Grandpa eating Shanghai cuisine 🍲 09:10 Day 4: Switching hotels to be closer to Grandma 👵🏻 10:03 Riding the metro from Minhang to Qingpu 🚇 10:44 Yang's Dumplings (Shanghai Pan-fried dumplings) 🥟 11:27 Touring the inside of a Chinese department store 🏬 12:03 Dinnertime at the local canteen (Yunnan food) 🐟 12:41 Killing time at Huawei store before ending the day 🌆 13:03 Day 5: 1st visit to Hospital 🏥 13:16 Indulging in hotel breakfast buffet 🍳 13:38 Visiting Grandma 👵🏻 14:52 Exploring the area; supermarkets & bookstore 📚 16:16 Day 6: 2nd visit to Hospital 🏥 17:00 Solo tour of local supermarket 🍞 17:37 Visiting Grandma & trip to Bao Long mall 🛒 18:18 Cool Chinese EVs (Huawei technology) 🚗 18:33 Continued shopping around (Watsons, Muji, Miniso) 🛍️ 19:52 Dinner at a Yunnan noodle shop 🍜 20:28 Day 7: 3rd visit to Hospital (switching hotels) 🏨 22:08 A quiet end to the day (canteen dinner) 🍚 23:02 Day 8: Last visit to Hospital 🏥 23:27 Better breakfast buffet in new hotel 🧃 24:08 Popsicles & trip to hospital 🍦 24:57 Trip to Wanda Plaza 🚌 25:39 Sanfu - one stop shop for everything 💄 28:52 Zakkami - cute trinket, accessories, & stationary store 🧸 30:11 Leaving Wanda, time for dinner 🌃 30:33 Back at our favorite canteen 🥘 31:25 Outro ☕️ follow me here Instagram: @amei.offline 📧 business contact Email: [email protected] 🎧 music All music sourced from via Capcut Desktop ☁️ credits Editing Program: Capcut Camera: One Plus 13 Copyright notice: © 2026 amei.offline. all rights reserved. unauthorized use or re-upload of this video and its contents (including audio and visuals) is prohibited.
