I think the issue is that every time someone tells the public, "This is good for you," The rich then get richer and the people get the bill. So, talk will not be enough. When the people start seeing something impact their life for the better, then they will be more hopeful.Until then, well... (IMO)

I am a frequent listener of the podcast and appreciate the attempt to speak to the issue of public concern over the potenttial near term negative economic impact of AI on the economy. That said, it is disingenuous to dismiss these concerns as a 10x propensity by the public to respond to fear messaging. This is not a 3rd world problem, it is a modern problem. It is not a hypothetical issue, it's already impacting the tech workforce. For those outside the AI bubble, there is less immediate opportunity and many in the middle class find themselves compromised if they haven't already 'made it'. In my segment of the tech industry, literally thousands of jobs have evaporated in the US over the last two years. I believe in the long term potential value these new technologies represent but the social structures change far too slowly and the economic downside is immediate for anyone outside the top 10%. It would be appreciated if you took this problem more seriously.

This is the most important topic that y'all have been dodging for the past year. Thank you for discussing. But it's not done. Bring it back up in every episode going forward.

The Moonshot idea of assembling bright/driven minds together to formulate pathways to address the world's short term concerns has so much credibility!

I found it hilarious how AWG drops some nuggets of information and the rest of the team riff.s on it for like 5 min and AWG just sit back and listens to the chaos he started. 😅<br><br>As always all of you are a huge source of knowledge thanks for the great insitghts.

I always think about Chris Rock's jokes about "there's no money in the cure" whenever I hear about the optimistic AI influence outlook towards medicine. I simply don't trust the present structures to fully implement the answers discovered.

Sounds like Alex almost doesn't like being an AI. He certainly does not like being called out 😂😂😂 Seriously, what a mind he has!

The learning conversation reminds me of the software millionaire that went back to complete his unfinished degree. The university said "We can't do that, we teach your code now!" He sat in on classes and still learned things about his own code he did not know.

Yes, please, start an online conversation about an optimistic view of where we can go especially regarding AI and humans evolving together. Publicize the recent contest winner about an economic model for our future, and start another conversation around how we might improve our social systems.

Its a little easier in this reality Peter, when you have 9.5b of monetary value under your control.... regardless of how hard or how smartly you worked for it.

We have a world of over 8 billion people, not everyone can be an entrepreneur and innovator,. Even as an optimistic realist, i fear that we are woefully unprepared for the transformation that AI in all its manifestations will bring. I give Emad Mostaque a lot of props for turning his efforts to proposals to address the potential turmoil that all this change will bring.
