  Been a cook for years and now work in a 5 star hotel doing banquets and set ups just like at the hotel you’re at. As soon as you said the chicken was cold I immediately knew lol. That plus the pool water was definitely an indicator for me. Water can also be a tricky thing because even brushing your teeth with water depending on where it’s at (even if you spit the water out) can still get you sick. It happened to my mom! Regarding the buffet food though…. Most likely even though it’s in a nice place it could have been sitting out there for hoursssss easily get into the “danger zone” where bacteria multiplies soooo fast, especially with meat, rice and anything with a lot of starch or egg.

  Unreal! This is the same hotel that my friends were poisoned in a few years ago.<br>Took two weeks in hospital before they could fly home.<br>They were diagnosed with a gastrointestinal infection caused by parasites and took eighteen months for them to recover.

  That food was probably sitting around for hours. &nbsp;Happened to me in India but I think due to food served on trains.

  As an Indian even I fall sick if I eat anything outside.. doesn&apos;t matter how good and hygienic the restaurant is.. if I eat street food then god save me..
