The best lesson learned (for me) was that that all of the guitars are passable and have a similar tone with the same rig. The Case Goldtop and the Telecaster sounded best to me, but without the direct comparison, I would be happy with any of the others if I was trying to record a slide part and needed to use something. That's really what I needed to know, so mission accomplished, thank you!

Cool guitars man. Tough choice. I've been playing slide for a long time and I can say that there's always some kind of compromise in guitar setup to get it to play well for slide and non slide. Having said that, I'd go with the second tele. It's 25.5" scale and it has independently adjustable saddles. those two things will make turning into an open C or B standard guitar be less of a pain with intonation. Don't sleep on open D for shorter scale guitars though. In my experience that is a great middle ground. <br><br>The other thing I'd say is for your SG try a glass slide. I use a medium glass from The Rock Slide and can get away with more on lower action guitars than with my brass slide. Much lighter to move across the fretboard as well. <br><br>Cheers!!
