  Poison ivy and oak are definitely a thing out in the woods but you usually won’t see an instant reaction until the oil seeps down into the pores. On the other hand, touching a nettle plant will have an instant reaction and feel like your skin is burning and itching with 1000s of microscopic splinters, or almost like you touched fiberglass. Rash will appear and you might feel discomfort for a day or 2. <br><br>If you know you’ve been exposed to poison ivy, oak, or even nettle plant too, cold water and dish soap to get the oils and stuff off your skin. Never hot water - it will open up the pores and the plant oils will sink in deeper and cause problems. Hopefully this saves someone on here! I get bad reactions so finding something that works is worth sharing.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz_RdcHIVCU&amp;t=575">9:35</a> definitely looks like it could be poison ivy! in the spring, its new sprouts will have that pretty reddish purple colour and some varieties have rounded leaves. Its vines are fuzzy with little climbers to help hold onto the bark of the tree. Fun fact, the rash caused by poison ivy is an allergic reaction caused by an oil the plant produces called urushiol!!^^
