Born and raised in the Seattle area and planned to live in Washington the rest of my life. As I began planning my retirement, it became clear that I would not be able to afford to stay in Washington. Real estate costs, property taxes, sales tax, car tabs, RTA tax, and other 'fees' have made Washington unaffordable. In the Fall of 2024, I left Washington for northern Florida. Washington is beautiful, but expensive.

A few years ago, there was an audit on taxes by state. Washington came in LAST and was labelled the least transparent state for taxes. The auditors said no one really knows the actual gross tax rate someone in Washington pays.

Actually it’s mostly dark with a few light spots…I’m leaving WA for good in April ..I work a public job and have seen this place be systematically destroyed. The amount of crime isn’t absurd and most citizens only hear a fraction of what’s happening. This state is a shell of what it was back in 2010 it’s almost unrecognizable

Born and raised in Washington . <br>It’s a beautiful state, with the ugliest government. <br>It’s beyond crooked from the very top all the way down. <br><br>The entire government <s>left and right</s> need to be cleaned out. <br>Let’s start with the GOV and AG, and then one by one get rid of the judges who are bought and paid for. <br>As for Seattle- just put a wall around it and lock the crazy people in and throw away the key.

Born and raised here since 1974. Saw the whole state transform from a clean small town with music and art everywhere into a overcrowded techie filled garbage dump.

I have lived in Washington my whole life. I'm a retiree on social security. I have watched the state go from a nice place to live to a place you need to carry a weapon. The taxes are so high that it's hard to live on what SSI pays. I'm stuck because I can't afford to move. I stay the hell out of Seattle because the addicts and homeless have taken it over. Crime is getting worse by the day. Everything about the state government is corrupt.

I've lived in Washington all my life, I'm planning on leaving as soon as I can. It's not the weather, it's the horrible corrupt politics. The politicians have so much power here the wave their middle finger at the voters.

I lived in Washington. I had a home built there when I was 23 years old. I could NEVER live there again. Too much of a hellhole now.

A lot of busted, taped up windows on cars. I moved here 30yrs ago, loved Seattle. Moved after the crime started rising. Now living an hour from Seattle, it caught up with me again. This time, gonna move in a few years. This state has moved so far left.

Ive been born and raised here. Maybe im weird. But I love the weather, the lighting, and chaos as far as convergent zones. The couple months of summer are unrivaled. I stay busy as a contractor, and have to keep security at max levels. Everything you said was super accurate.
