My grandma's name is Thelma and her sister is named Louise. They like to joke that they were the original Thelma and Louise. They're both in their 80's.

Geen Davis's performance in this is genuinely my favourite character arc in a film ever. She acts it perfectly.

This script was first offered to Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep, as they had wanted to do a movie together. They passed on this movie, and were given the script to Death Becomes Her. Glad they passed as the movie i dont think would've had the same feel or been as successful. Geena and Susan were perfect in the roles!

I watched Thelma and Loiuse a day after <br>it opened. Though I did enjoy the movie <br>as a whole, my then 21 year old male self<br>didn't understand the full context of the<br>story.<br><br>Now that I'm much older, I understand in <br>my own way, the dire gravity of what the<br>two ladies and all women must go <br>through in such a misogynistic society.<br><br>Their choice to live their final earthly <br>moments in a state of true liberation gets <br>me every time I rewatch it.<br><br>Excellent movie choice.

Back when movies had great stories, heart and good acting! And likely NO CGI.

Geena Davis was on a talk show for this movie, I think it was Jay Leno. And, he mentioned how well it did at the box office and asked her if they were thinking about a sequel. The audience started laughing and Geena told him, "I guess you haven't seen the movie, yet."

Every time I see this movie I'm a mess at the end, they are two beautiful souls that deserved better but had each other til the end. If you've got a Thelma to your Louise or a Louise to your Thelma - you're set for life.
