Very good video. Thank you. What was very interesting was publishing your usage for the month.

Really useful video - as you say, videos like this are too few! The kwh/£ comparison videos (bi-monthly) would be really good!

It's really interesting to see your installation taking place and your perspective as a consumer.

We're in the process of having a heat pump, a larger Vaillant than yours with integration into our existing UFH system as well as a few supplementary radiators. The installation looks neat and tidy and well thought out. Ours is due for installation in about seven weeks from now.

Do continue to post videos - I shall look forward to them.

The 2kW heating use is probably the power the system is using in standby (though that said is still on the high side for the number of days you're talking about). Take that out of the equation and your hot water cop is 375%. I had an Aerotherm Pro 5kW with Unistore tank installed in August. So far we've achieved a cop of 456% for hot water, which includes a weekly legionella cycle. Check your temperature for hot water - there's no point heating it too high just to blend it back down to temp with cold water. Ours is 42 degrees which is plenty hot enough for showers. Most days the hot water cop is more in the 460 to 520% range - its just the legionella cycle pulling it down over all. Although I have it scheduled againt the off-peak windows of the Octopus Cosy tariff, most days the cycle runs once at 1pm after we've had showers in the morning - this is when we're least likely to need heat in the house, and the weather is at its warmest, again helping keep the efficiency up.

Interesting video, thank you for sharing Ian and future updates would be most useful. DId you consider installing the Open Energy monitoring kit? IF you are only heating your tank once a day (which is a good thing) and not running out of hot water then you are wasting energy (which is a bad thing) - consider lowering your target temperature by 2°C run for a week - see if you get any complaints rinse and repeat until you get down to 48°C.

It's always interesting as an engineer to watch home owners videos and see some of the things posted which don't get addressed, such as the air brick with an LPG heat pump and the proximity of the Tesla Battery joint boxes. Other than that, quite a tidy install.
