  Just a note on the Benkei story. Most of the details about his life were written a few hundred years after he died in a work called 'Gikeiki' so most likely some of the stories were greatly exaggerated by storytellers by the time they were written down.

  Fun fact: Admiral Yi was known to have kept a diary, he was renowned to have excellent character, not holding grudges to those who had wronged him. That was to the point where the only people he insulted in it was himself, and Won Gyun. Initially, he starts out calling Won Gyun by his title &quot;Naval Commander Won&quot; or &quot;Won Pyeong Jung&quot; which was his ho (호, which is like a more elegant version of someone&apos;s name), but further down the line he calls him Won Gyun (his original name) and even &quot;The Bastard Won&quot; or &quot;The Horrid One&quot;.
