Paul says that everything benefits from break-in, cables, electronics, etc. I bought a brand-new TV. When I turned it on the picture was just blurry shades of grey. After 10 hours I thought I might be starting to make out muted colors. After 25 hours I convinced myself that I could almost see shadowy football players but I wasn't really sure that it was a football game because the audio was unintelligible. I started to believe that break-in of electronics might be real and I just needed to watch it for a few hundred hours more. Then a thief burglarized my house and took the TV. That finally convinced me that break-in is definitely real.

I’ve never understood the thing or the stress over breaking in speakers etc. Not that mechanical devices wouldn’t need to brake in. But what about just listen to music and eventually they are ready? Those days of playing pink noice could have been done while enjoying some music instead!

I wish you patience and endurance, Mr. Paul! I read the comments.

Would white or pink noise break a speaker in faster than intermittent random frequencies and excursions from actual music?

I think my system which has many new components in the last couple of years and especially the last year. I often feel like something new is opening up and I think that even after that extended time it is still burning in.

Speaker cones are a little like a baseball glove. We get when we were kids and just took a while to break it to move freely.<br>Most every speaker I’ve bought new kind of sounds like crap till about five hours then little by little he gets better

Break in is true, but is just a bonus. If you don't like the sound of the speakers from day 1, no break in will help you with that.

Qobuz has an album with audio tests including the burn-in song. It did help me with KEF. On day 3 sensitivity increased and dynamics improved significantly.
