  The acting in this was outstanding. The original ballplayers gave a great nod to them and legitimacy to the film.

  I had the honor of meeting one of the women who played for the Fort Wayn, IN Daises.  She had such great stories.

  This movie always takes me back to summers playing softball when I was a teenager.  I grew up in the area that this was filmed.  2 women from my softball team played in the movie and the little boy that played Angel Stilwell was from my hometown.

  I grew up in NY that made Cooperstown a day trip. My family went every year. When I got my license, I went at least a half a dozen times a year. One time, a few of the ladies were there as they made it there own tradition after their section was made. They signed my entrance ticket and started telling stories....so, I took them to lunch in one of the diners to hear more. After, I asked, "Why did you talk to some idiot kid over lunch?" They said, "Because you were a gentleman and  asked the right questions. Why did you take some old ladies to lunch?" "Because, I got to hear stories from real baseball players....and you never let baseball go away."

  My grandmother played semi-professional softball playing on one of the teams they would have scouted from. Their uniforms were pink satin with black lettering that were pretty snazzy for the time. They played teams from all over the tri-state both men and women teams and raised money by selling war bonds. <br>Much of the movie was filmed around Evansville, IN, a little more than an hour&apos;s drive from where I grew up in southern IL. Some people I knew went over and were extras and talked about being around the cast and crew, both pro and con.

  This video was almost as long as the movie. I am convinced to Dottie drop the ball on purpose. Wonderful movie I’ve seen it several times and I enjoy it each time. I see it and find more tidbits that I missed when I watched the previous time. I had no idea that the actresses were doing their own stunt baseball. Wow, that’s really dedication.

  The Netflix documentary &quot;A Secret Love&quot; is about the relationship between 2 AAGPBL players as they went through lives AFTER baseball and what happened to them. It&apos;s a good documentary to watch after seeing this movie.

  Penny Marshall was immensely talented and I sure miss her today.<br>I cannot imagine any others in the Lori Petty or Geena Davis roles. They fit their characters perfectly and they brought those women to life for me and my wife. We both just love this movie so much.

  Three of my favorite movies: 1) A League of Their Own by Penny Marshall, 2) Exit to Eden by Garry Marshall, and 3) The Princess Bride by Rob Reiner.
