I'm Senegalese born in the U.S. I want to move to Senegal. America is falling and I miss Senegal. It's so peaceful compared to the west. People are happier, funnier, more calm. Less in a rush. Food is better tasting and better for the body. Last time I went there I lost a dress size in 1 month.

So $5000 is not enough cushion to actually move and sustain yourself in Senegal. Before I married a Senegalese and learned how to live like a local, I would spend at least 3-4k in a month in Dakar.
