We are so lucky to be such a young field where these founding members of the field are still around and able to be interviewed

Most diplomatic way to call someone a liar. โ€œHe makes the present and future tense indistinguishable.โ€

An interviewer who lets the interviewee complete a thought without interruption is such a joy.

Such a pleasure to hear real engineers speak. It's so insightful and such a good break from the marketing hype nonsense.

Dude the way you ask questions is better than 99.9% of interviewers. You get out the way and are not trying to impress us or yourself with how clever your questions are you just ask the question I want to ask ๐Ÿ˜…

Awesome. Keep up the great work!

Sub'd

"We put in the 90% so we could make it work by ourselves, then for whatever reason, we put in the next 90%... What a a quote ๐Ÿ™ƒ"

Calling Larry Ellison โ€œa little bit shadyโ€ is like calling the ocean โ€œa little bit wet.โ€

I was just doing my usual scrolling, but I didnโ€™t expect this jewel of an interview. I had to stop and listen to the whole thing. Iโ€™ve been programming for 30 years and itโ€™s rare I get to listen to somebody speak in my own field and be so interesting. Itโ€™s not just the nuts and bolts, but also the history and the history of these kinds of things disappears if people donโ€™t record it. This is exactly what YouTube is best for.

Stonebraker was my grad Masters curriculum (not thesis) advisor in 83-84. I got to watch the early days of ingress and much other cool stuff in those two years. A blessing. Berkeley at that time was ground zero for much of what we now take for granted.

Instantly like the guy. The โ€œI donโ€™t give AFโ€ attitude of someone that actually know what they are speaking about. And not being afraid of calling hyped up BS for what it is. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘Œ
