Courteney Cox had a miscarriage in real life the day before they filmed the episode where Rachel gives birth to Emma. That must have been awful for her to deal with and to make matters tougher she had to be smiling and funny for the show while they filmed the episode

One thing that bothered me about friends is I find it hard to believe that Racheal would name her daughter Emma after Ross' history with Emily
