Can we just take a minute to appreciate Marisa’s mom’s beauty. She is a gorgeous woman of age. Now we see where she got it!

I hope the whole family went back to visit the elderly family member. What an opportunity!

Marisa is still beautiful, even after all these years, her personality radiates a real gentleness and loveliness. Her family has a lot to be proud of.

Interesting that the Italian guide said the murderer disappeared from official records after his trial and acquital. He must have changed his name and left town to avoid the scandal of shooting someone in the back of the head.

It is easy to spread rumors after a tragedy. My teenage aunt was murdered by her husband around 1931 and someone in the family spread a rumor that she killed herself, possibly the family member who had a fight with her before she eloped. This family member probably wanted to evade feeling guilty by casting my aunt as the perpetrator. But my father said the husband and his family were psychopathic and cruel. Would love to find out what really happened, but my family were poor farmers in Eastern Oregon, and there was not much they could do. The only other clue is that people had to restrain my wee 'lil grandfather from beating up the husband's father when he came back to town - the entire town demanded that the husband's family leave, which gives a clue: people knew what the family was really like. My grandparents are buried next to their daughter in a beautiful small cemetery in the town, under trees that whisper in the wind, and she will be forever young to our family.

So glad that Marisa was able to find out the truth, and hopefully the rumor of him being unfaithful ends with her. How unfortunate that it took too long to clear his name.

It doesn’t surprise me this rumor was started and lasted all those years. I remember investigating the Legend of Dead Darrius—a 50 year old legend in a small community accusing a couple of murdering their child. That rumor lasted until I found out the truth. It was malicious gossip and a total lie. I’m glad Marissa got to the bottom of this.

Her family all sound so sweet and good people.  Love that her 83 yr old relative wrote her a letter. She will cherish that forever.  I hope she writes her back somehow.  Loved the story ❤️ ♥️ 😍

Perhaps Marissa should make a movie about this story.

What a story. I was hoping Marissa would present her mother with that old photo of her grandmother, Adelaide on camera. I think her mother resembles her GM. How lucky to find a family member that remembers Adelaide, a portion of a story even.
