You could tell Mehmed was gonna win the civil war from the start. He's the only one who has a legit portrait, the others only had sketchy drawings, meaning you could tell who was remembered by history and who wasn't.

fun fact: bayezid named his sons after prophets. in turkish, süleyman means solomon, isa means jesus, musa means moses, mehmed and mustafa are variations of the name muhammed.

I'm not Turkish and we may love Ottomans or not but we all have to admit that they managed to establish a strong empire in a sensitive area, geographically, politically, culturally, religiously, ethnically... hats off to thse brave and wise Sultans!<br>Thanks Knowledgia for the great video and hope to see one of you abt the first Islamic Rashidun Caliphate expansion! When the ottomans stopped killing their brothers to avoid civil war, that was when the empire started to go downhill.

the fact that the ottomans didn't continue the tried and true tradition of the byzantines/romans in countless civil wars and mutinies is quite impressive. it made them a unifying force.
