2:16:14 To hear the GREAT Sean Carroll declare "I am a mess" when it comes to his organizational style around doing research made me feel better about my shortcomings.

Sean seems like an incredibly busy guy. I don't know how he is able to do all the things that he does. He must be quite motivated. I guess there isn't anything more motivating than possibly discovering or undercovering the secrets of the universe for us.

You know what? I really like how you're going against Thiel's project, or the whole Yarvinverse if you will. Polite, factual, and with a mission statement. It would be a perfect world where scientists just get to do science all day, but you recognise you're going to have to engage those kinds of destructive politics, and you do it in the most gentlemanly way. I'd say good for you, but good for all of us.

Thank you, Professor Carroll, for having the courage and patience to stand up for academic integrity. It is incredible in this day and age to see figures like Peter Thiel and Eric Weinstein use their wealth and platforms to undermine public trust in the scientific establishment just to peddle chemically induced theories and ideological agendas. Your refusal to let physics be undermined by loony podcast culture while calmly reminding everyone that real science requires peer review and rigorous critique(not just complaints), is public service at its finest. Keep defending the truth. I truly believe that you stand among the greatest of your field, and I’m both excited and fearful of what the future holds for society. I hope this setback ushers in another golden age for science.
