ANTV | Crime Investigation Journey | Committing murder and then trying to 'vanish' and flee is a common tactic of brutal killers. However, with the solemnity of the law, immediately after discovering the incident, the police force arrived at the scene to investigate and pursue the perpetrator. Case Information 1: On April 10, 2019, a man went to work in the fields and did not return by noon. The family suspected he was missing. He was Mr. Le Thanh Tri, in Thoi Hung commune, Co Do district, Can Tho city. Searching, the family discovered Mr. Tri's body hidden under water hyacinths. Upon receiving the report, the police agency quickly launched an investigation and hunted down the perpetrator. Through professional measures, the Investigation Agency identified Trinh Van Linh as a suspect in the case and invited him to work. Initially, Linh did not admit it, claiming that he had nothing to do with Mr. Tri's death. Through professional measures and collected evidence, Linh admitted his criminal behavior. Case Information 2: According to the indictment, due to having worked in a pig slaughterhouse, where Ms. Phan Thi Dao (56 years old, residing in Ward 2, Duyen Hai town) came to get meat to sell at Duyen Hai market every day, Hung knew the victim lived alone. On March 22, 2018, Hung lost at gambling in Tay Ninh province, so he took a bus back to Duyen Hai town at dusk; hiding in an abandoned house next to Ms. Dao's house. At about 3 a.m. on March 23, Hung disguised himself and sneaked into the house to snatch a necklace while Ms. Dao was taking her motorbike to get pork for sale. Seeing the robber escape, Ms. Dao recognized him and called out his name. Hung turned around and stabbed her with a knife, causing the victim to die on the spot. After that, Hung took 6 gold rings, cash, and some other assets before fleeing to Cambodia. A month later, Hung was arrested in Cambodia and extradited to Vietnam. Case Information 3: According to the indictment, Nguyen Thanh Tung knew that Mr. Vu Dinh Ngoc, 68 years old, a lottery ticket seller in Binh Long town, often wore many gold rings when selling lottery tickets, so he had the idea of blocking Mr. Ngoc's way to rob his property and sell it for money to pay debts and spend. At about 4 a.m. on February 7, 2021, Tung carried a knife and drove a motorbike to a section of road through a deserted field area in Phu Lac hamlet, Thanh Phu commune, Binh Long town, then cut a section of bamboo and hid, waiting for Mr. Ngoc to pass by selling lottery tickets. At about 5 a.m. on the same day, seeing Mr. Ngoc riding a bicycle, Tung suddenly hit Mr. Ngoc continuously with the bamboo section, causing Mr. Ngoc to fall to the ground. Tung continued to hit and drag Mr. Ngoc down to a nearby field. When he saw Mr. Ngoc trying to run away, Tung chased after him and pressed him to the ground, controlled him, removed all the gold on his body, taking 2 five-chi gold rings, 1 three-chi gold ring, and 1 bag containing more than 1.5 million VND, then fled. The total value of the property Nguyen Thanh Tung appropriated was over 70 million VND.
