  Great discussion with Barry Strauss, thank you. As histories are told that juxtapose empires against religion, renderings lead to an objective truth - do not underestimate the staying power of faith in God. I commend the historian&apos;s efforts in discovery of historical events and his inspiration to write about it. Invariably, it seems, lessons taught from history lean toward empirical reasoning and not toward understanding that which cannot be underestimated. If, say, the Jews took on historical discovery, lessons still fall most entirely within the Torah in seeking understanding of their plight and need of a messianic warrior. So, too, I say about the Roman Catholic Church whose history is rich on its own without temporal context or narrative, in its responses to war as it turns to the messianic King of Peace. The &quot;what if&quot; or counterculture is evident in the history of Jews and Catholics. Yet temporal powers are not expected to learn from history they can&apos;t usurp or negotiate with something they can&apos;t estimate and which outlives every temporal power over 2000 years. It is just a war to fight another day. Religion has been historically foreign to those without faith as belief in a supreme power is considered a threat to temporal powers no matter the negotiations, constitutions, and laws to &quot;permit&quot; the existence of religion in the world. It might be argued all temporal wars are against religion. Might there be a discussion along these lines at some point? Gratefully....
